Ireko redesigned this former Wake Robin Lodge into a private retreat that blends classic mission-style architecture with contemporary design.
Honoring History While Creating a Retreat at the Historic Wake Robin Lodge
When the new owners of this historic Wine Country home came to Ireko, they brought a clear vision.
The property, once the Wake Robin Lodge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, had been rebuilt, and they were adamant that the interior should not simply recreate the former hotel. Instead, it would pay homage to the lodge's storied past while becoming a gracious retreat they could call home. The resulting design holds that balance beautifully.
Classic Mission-style themes weave together with contemporary Japanesque influences, rendered in subtle shades of gray and green that feel deeply rooted in the Northern California landscape. Traces of the original lodge appear throughout preserved in ways that are quietly quirky yet comfortably warm. The spirit of Wake Robin Lodge lives on here, reimagined for the life being built within these walls.
