Ireko Company HistoryFounded in 1985 by James Rascoe and Michael Webb, Ireko began as a 700 sq. ft. flower shop in a 1940’s bungalow in Downtown Santa Rosa. Initially, the partners designed and constructed dramatic floral environments for private and professional events. The end results were show stopping, and before long, Rascoe and Webb were enlisted to apply their vision to residential interior design."Your expertise and eye for detail are evident everywhere we look. You did the impossible - 'elegance with the spirit and hominess' we yearned for." Joe and Mary Ann M. Healdsburg, California Soon the partners became known for their ability to reinterpret the art and objects they collected into interiors rendered wonderfully unique thanks to the unexpected juxtaposition of the objects placed within them. In fact, the name "Ireko" comes from a classical concept in Japanese culture that suggests placing something small into something larger. The Ireko concept also extends to architecture with consideration to how different layers of an environment interact with one another. Today, having grown from the original Santa Rosa bungalow to a larger showroom, and now to a still-larger space in a historic building on 4th Street in downtown Santa Rosa, Ireko is one of Northern California’s premier design galleries merging antiques with contemporary yet classic styling. In addition, Ireko’s extensive research library offers resources for all manner of custom design, including architectural design and detailing, remodeling, custom furniture, bedding, drapery, lighting and accessories. Please come visit the showroom to explore a world of endless possibilities, and become part of the continuing history in-the-making of Ireko. |
